Annual report of the year 2012 by St.Gallen’s art association ‘Kunstverein St.Gallen’.
Flyer announcing the 6th edition of ‘Eau de vie’, a party offering a selection of fine brandies and house music. Printed with black and white spot ink on grey paper.
Mixtape cover for our friend SHOUDELISTIX. Listen here.
Flyer announcing an open night at the St.Gallen Museum of the Arts during the exhibition ‘Dan Flavin – Lights’. The event’s program features a guided tour, a talk with the artist Siegrun Appelt and djs playing until late in the night. Printed on Chromolux with spot ink.
Teaming up with Samuel Bänziger (Bänziger Hug) we’ve been commissioned to redesign the cultural magazine ‘Saiten’, a monthly published platform for the arts and culture in eastern Switzerland. While each issue is focusing on a specific topic, the current deals with the question of originality and plagiarism. More coming soon.
Identity for ‘Dumont Gallery’, a contemporary art gallery based in Los Angeles.
‘Heimspiel’ is a triennial regional art exhibition, presenting and promoting artists from eastern Switzerland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and Vorarlberg in three different institutions in St.Gallen.
The visual identity is based on the three venue spaces or white cubes, displaying the prospectively opening doors for all the winning artists.
At the same time it is opening the doors for visitors to discover and experience the creative potential of the region and offering a space for exchange and discourse.
Flyer announcing an open night at the St.Gallen Museum of the Arts. The event’s program features a guided tour, a performance and djs playing until late in the night. According to the name of the event ‘Nachtschicht’ (nightshift) the abstract form of a clock is symbolized just by its numbers. As we don’t have a.m. and p.m. in the European hemisphere, the usual numbers are going from 1 to 24. By jumping from 5 to 18 we skip the daytime and what remains is the night.
Identity for ‘a broken arm’,
an art and research laboratory for production and ideas, initiated by Malek Abbou, Isabelle Giovacchini, Nicolas Giraud, Géraldine Kosiak, Baron Osuna and Aurélie Pétrel.
Flyer announcing the 5th edition of ‘Eau de vie’,
a party offering a selection
of fine brandies and good
house music.
Poster announcing the 2nd edition of a party series at an old church in St.Gallen, featuring minimal techno and classical piano concerts.
Webdesign for Lukas Schneeberger. In collaboration with Dominic Rechsteiner. Coding by Bänziger Hug.
Thesis about the semantics
and pragmatics of the lost punctuation marks – which have been invented and designed to help clarifying a writer’s intention (e.g. irony) but disappeared in today’s written language.
We rarely perceive the actual form of the question mark, although it leads our voice like a conductor his orchestra. But what happens if it looses its modesty and steps into
the spotlight through unusual form, placement or even absence? As a reference book for people interested in typography and linguistic philosophy this book should illuminate the question
mark with its function and relevance in a critical way and introduce the reader to the visual variety of the written question.
Invitation cards for
excursions to Basel and Leipzig/Dresden by St.Gallen’s art association ‘Kunstverein’.

Corporate identity for Made In Europe. The visual element of the new identity builds an analogy to the 12 stars of the Flag of Europe. Given 12 as a symbol of completeness and perfection formed to a circle of unity, it stands for both the careful craftmanship in every detail and the responsible treatment of natural rescources and the individuals involved in the process.
Flyer announcing a party at the ‘Lokremise’, a former roundhouse at the main station in St.Gallen. Organised by the music label ‘Abbruchhaus’. Printed with spot ink on three different papers.

Corporate identity for the 5th edition of the art fair ‘Roma Contemporary’ in Rome, Italy. To contrast the classical and historical reputation of Rome the graphics are playful and clean at the same time. The new language forms a modular system, which gives the fair an independent and strong identity.
The flyer is announcing
an open night at the St.Gallen Museum of the Arts. The event’s program features a guided tour, a lecture and poetry performance and djs playing until late in the night. The graphics show the
sunset and darkening change from day to night, according to the name of the event ‘Nachtschicht’ (nightshift). While the sun is shifting position the background sub-
sequently becomes denser.
The typography on the backside is based on the same concept where the single text boxes shift within the grid
and each paragraph slightly becomes darker.
Corporate identity for
London based menswear
label Hopper & Lace.
Work in progress.
‘Foto: Jim, Zürich’ shows the photographic work of Karlheinz Weinberger, who portrayed the homophile scene in Switzerland during the
50s and 80s. Back then, his work has been published in the gay magazines ‘Der Kreis’, ‘Club68’ and ‘hey’ but has only been accessible to a small circle of club members. This book shows photographs reproduced from its original prints in ‘Club68’. Their croppings and the charming characteristics due to printing have been retained unchanged. Edition of 3. Project at ZHdK, with the friendly support of Patrik Schedler.
Flyer announcing a party
at night at the Kunstmuseum St.Gallen. The front side shows three different grey tones in a raster graphic, which takes reference to the way we see in the dark. Printed with silver on black cardboard.
A5 flyer announcing a
party playing minimal techno and organ concerts in an
old church in St.Gallen. The layout takes reference to
old hymnbooks and arrays traditional music elements in
a progressive way, mixing
up classical with modern letterforms. The use of black and white refers to the nuit blanche of all local museums during which the event
took place.
Publication on the occasion
of the exhibitions ‘Echo of the Moon’ by Luca Francesconi. The project is centered on moon magnetism and involving other less immediate reflections about the idea of the moon and in particular the dichotomy of transparency
and opacity. A black part is dedicated to the absorption of light and opacity referring
to an absorption of thoughts and ideas of references
which are later being reflected in the white part presenting his artwork. Published by Kaleidoscope Press.
Flyer announcing a party at the club ‘Zukunft’ in Zurich presented by the label ‘Abbruchhaus’, which is the german expression for a condemned house.
Logo and business cards for Andrea Rüeger, CNC production. Silk screened on green paper.
Invitation card announcing
the birthday party of a friend. As time is a serious matter
in this case we played with elements of a clock to symbolize that some things change by getting older. If it is that time is relevant or maybe irrelevant. So it is like breaking the time and forgetting its relevance for a moment and celebrating something that is more than that.
Flyer announcing a party at the club Zukunft in Zurich, using our new typeface ‘Kasparov’. The give-away was a diamond, laser-cut from fabric by
Jakob Schläpfer. Therefore
we experimented with light refractions on typography. Printed on 45 gsm white and metal coated paper.
